According to Article 27 of the Swiss Medicines Act (HMG), the mail-order sale of medicines is generally prohibited in Switzerland.

A shipment authorization may be granted if:

1. a doctor's prescription has been issued for the medication in question;
2. provided that there are no safety requirements to the contrary;
3. appropriate advice is ensured;
4. adequate medical monitoring of the effects is ensured.

Shipping of Medications

Although you can purchase List D and C medications over the counter at specialty stores (pharmacies and drugstores) when you are in-store, a prior doctor's prescription is required for mail-order delivery.

Many online stores also offer the option to order the desired medication online and pick it up in person at a pharmacy or drugstore.
